Parish Annual Meetign Feb 2007 Priest-In-Charge Remarks

Dear Friends in Christ,
On December 1, 2005, I began my new ministry among you as Priest-In-Charge. Over these past months I have been encouraged by the active ministries, the sense of faith, the energy and the commitment of the people of this parish.

I am conviced that we are uniquely poised to grow deeper in faith and to develop our ministries both within the parish and outside the parish so that we shall indeed be a vibrant and growing church able to meet the demands of the 21st century.

Included in this booklet you will find a report about the life and work of the people of God hear at Holy Trinity & St. Benedict Episcopal Parish, in the San Gabriel Valley. I encourage you to tak time to read these reports, thank God for what has been, and pray for the wisdom of the Spirit that we may go to where God is leading us in the days to come.

But I really want to thank you for your love, which you share with me every week. It is the pearl of great price for a priest.

Faithfully,
Rick Yervant Byrum

Parish Annual meeting February 2007 - Senior Warden's report

Serving as senior warden this past year has been an honor and blessing.
This year has been one of great recovery and progress. We have put most
of the gossip and divisions behind us and have become a much more
organized and unified parish. We have seen tremendous progress in the
general organization and day to day operations of managing our parish,
particularly in our financial accounting. We have been blessed with
giving that has kept pace with our expenses, have caught up on all
delinquent bills, and routinely have a surplus in our operating budget.
Although there are still some areas that need to be improved, our
accounting and other management procedures are far better than at any
time I can remember.
I praise God that we have also had great support and dedication from
parishioners, committees, officers, and vestry members. I have seen the
budding of new and revived ministry with intercessory prayer, prayer
chain, healing team, a new Bible study group, and movement toward
establishing a new outreach ministry. I feel that we are on the cusp of
a tremendous opportunity for growth here at HTSB. I pray that we will
be able to continue making forward progress and will embrace the many
growth opportunities that God is placing before us.
All of this has made my job as senior warden very easy, perhaps a little
too easy. At times, I have felt guilty that I have not had to endure
trials of the magnitude our last senior warden had to deal with. In any
case, I thank God and all of you for a blessed year and I pray that our
next senior warden will have as easy a time at it as I have.

Thanks and God Bless!,

Brad Sherman

Parish Annual Meeting Feb 2007- Bible Study & Prayer Groups

Over the last year the Chino Hills bible study group has gone through a course of study focused on the Healing Ministries of Jesus, (from the St. Luke's Healing Ministries Course). Over a period of 10 centuries, inspired hymns of worship were composed and compiled to form the anthology known as the book of Psalms (from the Greek word meanding "a song sung to the accompaniment of a plucked instrument"). The group launched off into exploring the Psalms, exploring their deeper meanings, expressions, and how they can be better used for private or corporate worship. Come and join us - we meet each Friday night at 8:00 pm. Call Richard or Pacita Stevenson to confirm location, date and times.

The Downtown LA Bible Study Group which meets every Monday night, has maintained a strong group of study, music, and prayer. They also spent much of the year going through the course of study focused on the Healing Minsitres of Jesus, (From the St. Luke's Healing Ministries Course) with Fr. Rick. Each month was divided two weeks expoloring Jesus and his healing miracles, then the last two weeks of the month reading through the first book of the Bible (Genesis) with the assistance of Joeseph Maling. Come and join us - we meet each Monday night at 6:30 pm. Call Priscilla Padua, or Betty Bagsiao for more information.

Parish Annual Meeting Feb 2007- Seniors Bible Study

Seniors Bible Study Group: Suynday afternoons is the time the seniors gather to fellowship with the Gospel. It is an important time for them to hear and learn the message of the Gospel. Most often, the study is in the vernacular to enable everbody to better understand what is said and hopefully, we can apply what we have learned to our daily lives.
It is our prevent prayer for the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in our walk towards our salvation God has promised us who belive in His Son - Jesus Christ.

Parish Annual Meeting Feb 2007- Stewardship Report

You, the members of Holy Trinity & St. Benedict Parish, did a tremendous job of supporting the parish this past year in a variety of ways. I know many of you step up to the plate from week to week as things are needed, and I believe we can all agree seeing great changes at our parish. The numbers of pledging units from 2006 and going into 2007 are up. We have a pledging total of $60,000

The Stewardship committe thanks each of you for your support, and vision ot the dreams of what we can become through your commitment. Many church members gave generously of their time, talents and treasures in 2006. We have much to look forward to in this new year 2007.

Parish Annual Meeting Feb 2007- ECW Report

As usual and always, the ECW of St. Benedict's kept up their role as "The Big Moms" in church. To sum a few, the members of the altar guild made sure that the altar is well prepared before church services. This includes their time and effort spent to purchase flowers, fixing them at church, as well as the after care required to handle it all. The hosting groups have done great jobs in willingly contributing to the weekly Sunday lunch menues. They raised funds and provided tow new refrigerators for the church kitchen. During their spare time, the ECW helped in church clean-ups and on many occasions showed their decorative expertise to make special church events more meaningful.

Last year the ECW elected their new set of officers, namely Bibianna DaVega as ECW president, Betyy Bagsiao as vice president, Chris Dagan as secretary, and Annie Anderson as treasurer. Congratulations! With God's grace and mercy, you will have our support.
