WORSHIP

Lent banner by Sr. Virginia ClareLent Banner by Sr. Virginia Clare. Do you know what IHS means?Sunday Services

The celebration of the Holy Eucharist is held at 9:00 and 11:00 am.  Please join us at either time. ALL ARE WELCOME! The 9:00 service is an "unsung service" and is generally a much smaller worshiping group. The 11:00 service is with choir.

On special occasions such as (e.g. Easter, Palm Sunday, Pentecost) the two services are combined and instead a single service is held at 10:30 am.  So watch our calendar for special announcement times.

Generally every 4th Sunday of each month is "Youth Sunday"  Many portions of these services are coordinated by the youth in the church.  They often feature up-beat contemporary Christian music.  The reading, prayers and occasionally the Sermons are done by the youth.  On occasion the youth also take this opportunity to report to the congregation on various youth events such as conventions, youth retreats, fund raisers and other youth events that occur from time to time.

Special Services

Throughout the year, there are a variety of special services held during the week (e.g. Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Thanksgiving,  Christmas, New Years).  Watch our calendar for special service announcements.

A festive youth worship service

Sunday School

For those with young children, a Sunday school is held during the late service at 11:00 am in the parish hall. We ask all parents to please bring their children early to minimize the distracting interruptions that naturally occur when children are brought in late.  The children generally complete Sunday school activities about half way through the 11:00 service and then join the remainder of the worship service.  An additional Sunday school session is held at 2:00 pm for young adults.  Please note that no Sunday school is held during youth services every 4th Sunday of the month. This is so all the youth can participate in the youth service.

Altar Guild (Saint Martha's Guild)

The Altar guild committee is responsible for the care and decoration of the cathedral, altar, and associated worship artifacts.  They are sort of our tribe of Levi.

Acolytes

Maglalang/Sherman familyAll are invited to participate in our worship services as Acolytes.  The Acolyte schedule is coordinated throughout the year by Felix Kubulan.  Generally a different parish family is scheduled to serve as acolytes each Sunday.  In this way the opportunity to serve as acolyte is made available to all parish members.
